Nursing (RN)

The Patrick Henry Community College Registered Nursing (RN) program typically accepts program applications twice a year - once during the fall semester and once during the spring semester. The program will be adopting a new curriculum set to begin in the fall 2018 semester. The transition to the new curriculum may alter the typical application cycle. 

Applications for the Associate Degree Nursing Program (RN) Spring 2018 Application Cycle will only be accepted March 5 - 9 in Philpott Room 123.

Students are encouraged to speak with a Nursing Advisor to review our NEW RN admission requirements.

RN Pre-Admission Testing:

Students who have applied and met the pre-requisites will be invited to take the HESI Admission Assessment. Four categories will be tested which include: Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Math, and Chemistry.

  • The HESI Admission Assessment Exam Review (ISBN  9780323431323) is an optional review book available for purchase on-line and in the campus bookstore. It is available on closed reserve in the LRC.
  • Students may make an appointment in the Math Lab, located in the PHCC Learning Resource Center (LRC)
