Application period for RN program starts March 13

The application period for the associate degree registered nursing program's fall cohort is March 13 – 17.

Applications and information about the program can be accessed from the health career page on the PHCC website: Applications should be returned to 123 Philpott Hall on the PHCC main campus before 5 p.m. March 17.

The two-year degree program prepares students to take the state licensure exam for registered nurses and to work as a registered nurse in a variety of settings. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the demand for nurses is expected rise over the next ten years. The projected growth of jobs for nurses is more than double the average growth of jobs across the nation. According to Virginia’s Labor Market Information site, nurses in the Martinsville area and surrounding counties make between $40,000 and $54,000 yearly. The site labels registered nursing as a high-demand, nationally growing occupation.
