Greene nets students success award

On Tuesday, Dr. Angeline Godwin, the president of PHCC, presented the final Student Success Award of the semester to Willie Greene. Greene was nominated by his professor Angela Wright.

Willie is active in the Patrick County community where he lives. He works as a substitute teacher for Patrick County Public Schools and coaches various sports in his community while working toward his goal of becoming a middle school teacher.

Wright describes Greene as “prepared,” “thoughtful,” “outgoing,” and “helpful.” She goes on to say that teaching middle school is an excellent choice for him. “He has patience and is an excellent role model.  Students in middle school go through many changes and need guidance from a strong male role model,” says Wright.

Greene hopes to pursue Longwood’s education program at NCI after graduating from PHCC next year with his general education degree.
