Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) is proud to announce that Brian Henderson, Assistant Vice President and Athletic Director, has been selected to serve on the inaugural Allstate National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Good Works Team Committee. This honor recognizes Henderson’s commitment to excellence, leadership, and advocacy for student-athletes both on and off the field.
The announcement follows NACDA’s newly formed multi-year partnership with Allstate to launch the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team. Building on the legacy of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, which has celebrated college football players’ off-the-field contributions since 1992, the NACDA initiative will expand to honor 60 exceptional student-athletes annually.
This new initiative will recognize student-athletes from across winter, spring, and fall sports, including 20 athletes (10 male and 10 female) each season from all collegiate divisions. As a member of the nine-person selection committee, Henderson will help identify these student-athletes whose dedication to community service, academic success, and athletic excellence exemplify the highest ideals of college athletics.
Henderson joins an esteemed group of leaders on the selection committee, including representatives from each collegiate division, NACDA, ESPN, and Allstate: Ross Bjork (Ohio State) – Division I, Etienne Thomas (Winston-Salem State) – Division II, Natalie Winkelfoos (Oberlin) – Division III, Reagan Rossi (College of Idaho) – NAIA, Brian Henderson (Patrick & Henry CC) – JC/CC, Dan Guerrero – NACDA Past President, Sam Acho – ESPN, Holly Rowe – ESPN, and Dan Keats – Allstate.
“This is a tremendous honor, and I am humbled to serve alongside such distinguished colleagues on the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team Committee,” said Henderson. “Community service and student-athlete development have always been at the center of my philosophy as an athletics director, and I am thrilled to contribute to this important initiative that shines a light on the incredible work being done by student-athletes across all divisions.”
Henderson’s selection underscores his impactful leadership at Patrick & Henry Community College, where he has been an advocate for the transformative power of athletics. His role on this committee further elevates the reputation of Patrick & Henry’s athletics program and its commitment to student success.
The first class of Allstate NACDA Good Works Team honorees will be announced in 2025, recognizing student-athletes whose service efforts inspire and uplift communities across the nation.
