The Office of Planning and Evaluation works collaboratively with all members of the College community to enhance the educational mission of the College as set forth by the Chancellor of the Virginia Community College System and the President of Patrick & Henry Community College.
The Office serves to assist all members of the college community with their assessment, program evaluation, and research initiatives, which include:
- Program and educational objective development
- Collecting and storing of information
- Analysis and reporting of assessment and research information
- Evaluation of the quality of assessment and research methods employed on campus
- Providing access to resources and data needed to successfully complete such initiatives

Accreditation Information
Patrick & Henry Community College is a member of the Virginia Community College System and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award career studies certificates, certificates, and associate degrees. Institutional Review Board
The purpose of the Patrick & Henry Community College Institutional Review Board (IRB) is to ensure that appropriate steps are taken to protect the rights and welfare of individuals participating as subjects in research studies conducted by or involving P&HCC employees, students, or the college itself.
The IRB does not evaluate the soundness of the proposed research study, the merits of the research design, or the potential contribution of the research to scholarly literature. Instead, the IRB is responsible for ensuring each project complies with ethical standards, focusing on issues such as informed consent, confidentiality, and minimizing risk to participants.
