P&HCC students may earn an associate degree, certificate, or career studies certificate from Patrick & Henry Community College. You may also take classes without enrolling in a specific program of study.
Associate Degree Programs
P&HCC awards associate degrees in science (AS) and in applied science (AAS).
-
- Associate of Science degrees provide the first two years of instruction that prepare students to transfer to another institution to complete a baccalaureate degree. These programs require 60-72 credit hours.
-
- Associate of Applied Science degrees provide knowledge and skills leading to employment in specialized fields. These programs require 60-69 credit hours that are non-transferable.
Certificates
-
- Certificate programs take less than two years to complete consisting of 30-59 credit hours of training for an occupational area.
-
- Career Studies Certificates require less than a full year of study in an occupational area and require 9-29 credit hours.
Certificate programs differ from associate degree programs because they are presented at a different educational level and are developed in response to employment needs. Several of these programs are offered on a part-time, day or night basis for students who are already employed.
